Shadow of Atticus Reynolds cast on sandy ground

Atticus Reynolds is a musician, writer, teacher, and musicologist. Growing up as a jazz drummer, his work is diverse, yet is always in reverence to Afro-Diasporic rhythmic traditions. His main disciplines include songwriting and production under the moniker goldenfinch and playing drums in diverse settings. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies and of the University of California-Irvine with a PhD in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology. His dissertation work explores Afro-Cuban religious traditions and the sacred art of Batá drumming in the Santería religion. Atticus currently teaches Hip-Hop and Latin Music at Butte Community College in California.
